A Really Fun Friday...

Last Friday (almost a week ago already!) was a really fun day. Emory took the day off from school and he and Dan headed down to the Sun n' Fun Airshow in Lakeland, FL. This was their 3rd year going to the airshow and this year Emory's friend Duncan and his dad went with them too. Here's a pic of Emory in front of his favorite airplane this year, a Piper Jet.

Ellie had a great day too because it was her last field trip of the year with her kindergarten class. We went to the zoo and had a great time following her teacher, Mrs. Welu, around and listening to all of the fun facts that she knew about the animals and their habitats. Ellie and I stayed at the zoo for a couple of hours after the bus headed back to school so that we could feed the lorikeet birds who will drink special nectar that you can purchase right out of your hand.

A New Addition to our Family...

On Thursday, April 16th, we welcomed the cutest little Jack Russell Terrier to our family. She was born on March 8th and we've decided to name her Piper. At five and a half weeks old, she weighs in at all of two pounds (if that!) and she stands about 5 inches tall at her shoulder but she is full of all of the classic Jack Russell energy!

The new puppy was all a huge surprise for Emory and Ellie on Friday morning when we got them up early before heading off to school. They thought Daddy had to go out of town for work on Thursday and had no idea that he had spent 10 hours in the car going to pick up their new puppy!

Here's Piper curled up in her "bed". She's so small that she's been sleeping in a laundry basket with a fleece blanket for her first two nights with us. She likes to be snuggled and keep warm. She's just so cute! We love you Piper!

Goal!

Emory had a fantastic soccer game today and scored his first goal of the season. WAY TO GO EMORY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally...

For so many months, I've been meaning to get around to putting together a blog for Emory and Ellie. They are both growing up so fast and have lots of exciting things happening so I've finally started one. Bear with me as I learn how to do this...thanks and enjoy!
